For Today - June 21, 2010

Outside my window...another beautiful hot day here in Vegas. Not a sound on our street, probably because everyone is hiding out inside from this heat.

I am thinking...life is good!

I am thankful for...celebrations.  I love to celebrate every little thing in life.  I told the kids that we are going to have a 'first day of Summer' celebration today.  We'll have balloons, games, ice cream, watermelon, we'll blow bubbles, & whatever else we can come up with that is fun for this day. Of course we will have to have a cook out tonight too.  I want them to learn to celebrate life - big or small, CELEBRATE!

I am remembering...celebrating & honoring Mike yesterday.  He takes wonderful care of us, & he so deserved this.

On my mind...how fast time goes.  I can't believe we are almost into July!  Where did this year go???

I am pondering these words..."...For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away." James 4:14 (THIS is why we need to celebrate. TODAY. Don't put off life.)

From the learning rooms...I'm attempting new things with digi-scrapping, & having so much fun seeing pages come together.

From the kitchen...a smoothie as soon as I get this posted!  I love my daily fruit smoothie.

I am wearing...still in pj's that are decorated with Mickey Mouse.  Like I've said, I'm a child at heart.  I have often tried to picture my Mom at my age in Pooh or Mickey/Minnie Mouse pj's, & it makes me smile. I can't see it.  We 'Boomers' are fun, & I truly believe we have changed the face of getting older.  :-)

I am creating...new dig-scrap pages.  I'm almost finished with a book showcasing Emily's day helping me bake a cake with her new chef things - I took 89 pictures of her in the kitchen that day!

I am going...to a tea party this afternoon.  Princess Emily is holding one in her room, & I wouldn't miss it for the world.

I am reading...my Bible.  All my other books have been set aside for a few weeks while I scarpbook in my spare time.

I am hoping...still hoping that what Mike & I are discussing becomes a reality.

I am hearing...would you believe Christmas music?  Emily wants to listen to it this morning.  She says that we shouldn't save Christmas music for just Christmas, & she's right.  Mike says you can tell that I've raised her. :-)

Around the house...peaceful & calm.  Yes, you 'can' have peace & calm with children.

One of my favorite things...the sleepy, smiling faces of Elliot & Emily each morning.  What faces to wake up to!

A few plans for the rest of the week...I don't have a whole lot planned aside from my errand day.  I love these weeks of not having a big 'to do' list. It falls right into place with the first week of Summer.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...Mike with Elliot, Emily, & Avery on Father's Day yesterday.  What a job to get 3 children to look in the same direction at the same time, or to get a photo where all of their eyes are open!

  1. Happy Monday my friend, I LOVE the pic of Mike and the kids. What fun to celebrate today, the first day of summer, alas I'm already a bit sick of the heat already! We did a cookout last night for Father's Day so I'm trying to eat good again today. Jason can have the leftovers for dinner tonight while I have a salad ;-)
Enjoy your Monday and your tea party - you lucky girl you!

  2. Happy Monday dear Judy; What a positive way of thinking and teaching your precious ones to celebrate life. It's been hot here too but living in a senior apartment complex, we can't grill or cook outside. I usually fix different type of salads and light meals in the summer. What a wonderful photo of your hubby and the kids. Have a blessed day my friend. Hugs ;-}

  6. Such a beautiful Father's Day picture ♥
You will have to tell us sometime how you do the digi-scrap. I would love to learn to do that sometime. What program do you use? I've heard Photoshop Elements is a good one.
Tell Emily, she's right about the Christmas music. Tell her I LOVE my Barbara Streisand Christmas CD and love to listen to it if I take a bubble bath. Yes even in July as hot as it is if my muscles are sore.
    Love you all ♥♥♥
