For Today - May 3, 2010

Outside my window...beautiful!  It's going to be near 90 today, but with the low humidity here in Vegas, it's bearable.

I am thinking...about my Mom. With Mother's Day coming up, the loss of her is magnified..  I miss her so much!

I am thankful for...new friends that I've met on the internet.

I am remembering...Emily hugging me Saturday & looking at me with pure love in her eyes.  She looked into my face &  said "Oh, your beautiful eyes! They look like pearls with green on them."   I have green eyes, so that's the why my 'pearls' have green on them.   I've never heard eyes described like that before.  She makes me laugh.

On my mind...our little get away next week!

I am pondering these words..."Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:3

From the learning rooms...realizing that I am constantly learning & growing.  I want to learn something new everyday.

From the kitchen...cooking out  - burgers, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, chips, & coconut cream pie for dessert.

I am wearing...white top, black french terry pants, & a big smile!

I am creating...'lots' of sig tags for my new web friends.  Having such fun doing doing it!

I am going...no where.  We just got back from a morning out - Starbucks, a gift shop, & then grocery shoppping.

I am reading...my Bible, children's books, a study book, & a few other books. I  love to read!

I am hoping...my decor plans for our 'schoolroom' look as good in reality as they do in my mind.

I am hearing...all's pretty quiet here right now.  I think Elliot & Emily are tuckered out after our morning out.

Around the house...Emily just asked me if she could answer one of these prompts. I read her the choices & she wants this one.  Her answer for this?  "around our house...is special because I live here." :-)  She's right.  Now she'll want to answer one every week.  Just had a thought - I wonder what Elliot & Emily's answers would be like if I were to let them answer one week?  I love seeing things through their eyes.  I might do that in the future.

One of my favorite things...making our first stop Starbucks, when we are going out.

A few plans for the rest of the week...I've planned a week of relaxing, except for a trip to the mall.  Last week was busy, so no major plans are in the works.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...Emily told me that she wanted to write something on our sidewalk this morning, but I couldn't look until she was finished.  This is what I was greeted with after I opened my eyes...

  1. I love what Emily wrote. She is so smart and so sweet. When I go back to LV, we will have to stop at Starbucks like last time. Hugs

  2. Emily just cracks me up, she is so sweet, I love hearing about the things she says. That would be pretty cool if you let the kids answer the questions one week. I never thought to do that with Kristen. I don't do my SWD now cos I am blogging a lot and to be honest a lot of the time I can't think of what to put! Perhaps Emily should help me too ;-)
    Love the sweet picture too.

Yes-it is so painful losing a loved one and time does not heal completely if ever.I lost my mother when she was in her early fifties and I still hurt now and times such as her birthday and Mothers day make our loss even more magnified at these times.Thinking of you and praying for you.
Enjoy your day and loved your post!!
    Love you.
