Outside my window...a beautiful warm, sunny Las Vegas day! 

I am thinking...it's been so long since I posted anything.  Too long. 

I am thankful for...friends & family. 

I am remembering...simpler days.  Seems like it's go, go, go now. 

On my mind...Mike's new job.  He'll be leaving soon for Saudi, & be there for TWO long years!

From the learning rooms...I've been studying apertures, f/stops, shutter priority, ect....all the 'fun' things to do with taking photos, & I realize, I still have a 'lot' to learn.  

From the kitchen...just had a smoothie, & no idea what I'll come up with for dinner tonight.   

I am wearing...navy blue Pooh t-shirt & light grey sweat bottoms.  Still in my treadmill gear. 

I am creating...a healthy body. I enjoyed the holidays a bit too much, & the holiday eating continued until mid January. 

I am going...to relax this afternoon/evening.  As soon as I post this, I'm off to fix a pot of tea to enjoy, as that seems to go hand in hand with relaxing.  

I am reading...too many books at the same time!  So many good freebies for the Kindle app. 

I am hoping...we get our Bella sooner than the breeder thinks.  'Bella' is a miniature Golden Teacup Persian - a sister for Tinkerbell.  We waited almost 3 years for her, so we're all very excited.    Hmmm...wonder if Tinkerbell would be excited if she were to know that a new 'baby' is coming?

I am hearing...the theme song from The Wonder Pets & Emily chattering away at me. She's planning our next trip to Disneyland & discussing it. :)  

Around the house...reminders everywhere of how very blessed we are.  

One of my favorite things...taking my iPad to bed each night to read. 

A few plans for the rest of the week...Emily's ballet class, a hair trim for me, homeschooling - that's about it.  Mike is gone till Thursday, so having a laid back week.  

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...I cannot believe Elliot is NINE!  Whenever I tell him that he can't play certain video games, he's quick to remind me "But I'm nine now!"  Sorry Elliot - doesn't matter. :)

Outside my window...dark as coal (as my Mom used to say).  Still so hot out though.  Please hurry Fall!  

I am thinking...I am such a nightowl!  

I am thankful for...all the sweet things that I am daily tucking away in my memories.  

I am remembering...Emily telling me stories tonight.  She told me that she had made up a 'little' story about Lilly, & 20 minutes later she's 'still' in the midst of it!  I thought she was finished at one point, & I said "What a good story Emily!" She replied "It's not over.", & she went right on. :) 

On my mind...Mike's new job opportunities.  Hopeful that one in particular becomes a reality. 

I am pondering these words...from a friendship book that a friend sent to me - "Among God's best gifts to us, are the people who love us."    

From the kitchen..closed now, but had chicken fajitas tonight, followed up later with cherry pie with vanilla ice cream.  I'm glad my son finished it up, or I'd have a late night snack.

I am wearing...Minnie Mouse pjs. 

I am creating...a learning environment.  Getting ready to start a new school year with Elliot & Emily. 

I am going...to begin to resemble a panda or a raccoon if these late nights don't stop.  

I am reading...my Bible & children's stories. 

I am hoping...Elliot & Emily sleep in tomorrow morning.  I know Emily will, but Elliot is normally an early riser.   

I am hearing...silence, except for the keys as I type. 

Around the house...blessings abound! 

One of my favorite things...having Elliot & Emily crawl into bed with me, & the three of us sleeping in for awhile.  

A few plans for the rest of the week...clean house tomorrow, make dental appointment (ugh!), do a bit more organizing in our garage, catch up with a few things.

Outside my window...bright & sunny.  It's 104 here today, but that's cooler than it has been. 

I am thinking...it's nice to get here earlier.  These have been late night posts for awhile.  

I am thankful for...family & friends. 

I am remembering...baking 'Christmas' cookies last night with Elliot & Emily.  It was so much fun to enjoy a bit of  'Christmas in August' for awhile.  Emily said "Now only if it would snow!" :) 

On my mind...changes.   

I am pondering these words...Emily wants to answer this one - she said "Emily said she loves me." :)  She tells me those always wonderful to hear words, at least 50 times a day.  

From the learning rooms...it's good to keep a diary.  Last week I so enjoyed reading back over the ones that I kept over 20 years ago.   

From the kitchen...tonight it will be spaghetti, salad, & garlic cheesy bread.  Can't wait! 

I am wearing...capris & t-shirt. 

I am creating...a decluttered, organized home.  We got together so many bags for Goodwill, with more to follow. 

I am going...to color with Emily after I post this.  I love doing this with her - we chatter away as we color.  I wish we could convince Elliot to join us.  He 'hates' coloring! 

I am reading...my Bible, & I'm almost to the bottom of my stack of magazines.   

I am hoping...for jobs for my two sons.  They are out again today, so I'm hoping they get some hopeful news.  

I am hearing...Emily singing here beside me. 

Around the house...peaceful & happy. 

One of my favorite things...my iPad.  LOVE it! 

A few plans for the rest of the week...finish up with gathering things for Goodwill, bathing Tinkerbell (she loves her baths!  I'm glad, because she will never become 'Stinkerbell'). :) 

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...Emily loves playing school with her stuffed animals.  She does this 2 or 3 times a week.  It's so sweet to hear her teaching them.  She'll actually go around & write or draw on each of their papers, as if they did it.  Of course, she says Lilly is her best student.  I never knew Lilly was such an artist. :)

Outside my window...another late night post, so dark.  Still so very hot, even at this late hour.  

I am thinking...about all I have accomplished over the past few days. I'm in the midst of a MAJOR cleaning binge.  Decluttering & organizing is work, but so much fun to reap the rewards of it.  

I am thankful for...my two little helpers...Elliot & Emily have worked right alongside me. 

I am remembering...the fun of working with Elliot & Emily today.  I try to make work so much fun for them.  I don't ever want them to equate work with 'drudgery' & boring.  Of course, it helped in the fun to break & head off to get Starbucks & a dozen donuts from Krispy Kreme!  

On my mind...the closets that I cannot wait to tackle tomorrow!   

From the learning rooms...my resolve is weak when a box of Krispy Kremes are in the kitchen. :) 

From the kitchen...I just enjoyed a delicious custard filled donut from Krispy Kreme!  It's a bad snack to have right before bed, but it was calling to me, & I had to answer. 

I am wearing...white capris & lavendar t-shirt. 

I am creating...a well organized home - a place for everything, & everything in its place.  Sadly though, I'll be doing it again in a few months.  Oh well...I guess that goes with being a 'domestic engineer'! 

I am going...to bed very soon, & plan on sleeping like a rock!  Which by the way, Emily asked me what that meant - she asked "Do rocks really sleep?"  When I said "No", she said "Then why do you say that?"  I had no answer, exept that maybe it mean you were so tired, that you would sleep really hard.  Anyone out there care to answer her question? Emily is very good at making you think. 

I am reading...my Bible, & a stack of magazines that I hope to dwindle down to nothing this week. 

I am hoping...still hoping for jobs for my two sons.  

I am hearing...blissful silence. 

Around the house...looking good! 

One of my favorite things...the feeling that comes with deep cleaning room by room, & seeing it when finished.  

A few plans for the rest of the week...continue with my cleaning from top to bottom, & enjoying my sweet helpers. 

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...3 of my big loves.  Why is Emily giving this look of "What in the world!??"  Because Avery was jabbering away with nothing but jibberish. When I asked her "What are you doing Avery?"  She repiled "Oh, I just 'peaking Panish'."  'peaking Panish' is 'speaking Spanish'. :)

Outside my window...another late night post, so dark & quiet.  So hot too!

I am thinking...about my friend that's away on a few days vacation. She needs this, & I hope she's having fun.  

I am thankful for...creature comforts - especially air conditioning! 

I am remembering...Elliot & Emily's laughter today as we were playing together.  

On my mind...how fast Elliot, Emily, & Avery are growing up.  We were looking over photos the other night, & couldn't believe how much they've changed since last summer!     

From the kitchen...had a delicious pot roast dinner tonight. 

I am wearing...Minnie Mouse pj's.

I am creating...a family picture collage for my laundry room. 

I am going...to bed soon. 

I am reading...my Bible & some books to Elliot & Emily. 

I am hoping...my two sons get word that they both got the job they interviewed for.  They've done 2 steps of the process, one more to go!  

I am hearing...total silence except the keys as I type. 

Around the house...changes.  My son had to move back in over the weekend. He's had a rough go of it latley.  

One of my favorite things...a Starbucks run for an iced caramel macchiato.  So good in this heat! Well actually, it's good anytime! 

A few plans for the rest of the week...help my son get the remainder of his things moved in & get him settled here, grocery shopping, take Elliot & Emily to see the Pooh movie.

Outside my window...dark, since I'm getting a late start here tonight. I had Avery all day, so that tells it all. :) 

I am thinking...about the fun the kids & I had today.  

I am thankful for...days like today.

I am remembering...hearing Emily in the backseat of the car today, telling Avery that I was the best Mommy in the whole world. :)  And Avery agreeing. :) 

On my mind...how good my bed is going to feel tonight!

From the learning rooms...Avery & chocolate doesn't mix!  My son Shad gave her a brownie, & she was 'insane' for a couple of hours afterward!  She was even trying to do karate, & she's never seen karate. :) 

From the kitchen...nothing from there tonight - we went out to eat.

I am creating...happy, happy summer memories for the kids.

I am reading...nothing except my Bible this week. 

I am hoping...that my son Brandon gets the call this week, letting him know that he got the job that he interviewed for.

One of my favorite things...a Krispy Kreme donut!  I had more than one tonight. :)

On my mind...my son Brandon & his search for a job.  He called tonight, & is feeling down.    

From the learning rooms...everything happens for a reason! 

From the kitchen...cleaned up after my hubby insisted on bringing home take-out tonight.  He wanted me to have a break. 

I am wearing...pj's. 

I am creating...a few new graphics.

I am going...to finish up a few things after this post, & then go off to bed.  

I am reading...my Bible, & so many books on my iPad.  I LOVE reading on my iPad! 

I am hoping...that my son gets the job that he's interviewing for on Wednesday.  

I am hearing...nothing but Regis & Kelly.  I dvr them, & watch them in the evenings.  I am going to miss Regis when he leaves! 

Around the house...spotless, after it being my big cleaning day.  

One of my favorite things...these quiet evenings after everyone else has went on to bed.  It absolutely kills Emily that I stay up after she goes off to bed.  Every single night, she asks me the same thing - "Tell me, what all are you going to do?  When are you coming up?  How long will it be before you go to bed?"  She cannot bear the fact that I do things without her.   

A few plans for the rest of the week...time to go through the closets & drawers again. I got on such a cleaning binge today. 

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...Emily loves to draw, & she normally gives each drawing a name.  Here is one she did the other day.  She brought it to me & said "Mommy, this is for you.  I drew lots of hearts so that you would always know how very much I love you.  It's called 'I love Mommy so, so, so much!"  She makes my heart smile!

I am remembering...Emily's performance in her Alice in Wonderful theme at her ballet class tonight.  It was so sweet! 

On my mind...the terrible state of things in Japan right now.  My heart goes out to them.

From the learning rooms...old habits are hard to break!  After breaking my nightowl ways for over 3 weeks, I'm back to being a nightowl. 

From the kitchen...quiet, as dinner ended long ago.

I am creating...still working on my photo books.  Seems to be a never-ending job. 

I am going...to bed soon! 

I am reading...My Bible & various magazines & books on my iPad. 

I am hoping...it cools down again before it gets hot here.  Our weather the past week or so has shown me that I am not ready for hot temps. 

I am hearing...my son rustling in the pantry - he came over to spend the night tonight. He just informed me that he can't wait for me to fix him a big breakfast in the morning.  So looks like I'll be fixing enough for an army, because he can eat!

Around the house...evidence that children live here.  We have a blessed life. 

One of my favorite things...sharing Monday evenings with Emily at her ballet class.  This has become 'our' night.  Although, Mike & Elliot went to watch her tonight too, so we had to share it.

Outside my window...beautiful warm sunny day.  The trees are gently swaying with a light breeze.  Perfect day! 

I am thinking...I need to get going on my day.  I spent too long on the phone with my sister this morning. 

I am thankful for...surprises.

I am remembering...our wonderful 5 days at Disneyland.  This time was all the more special, because Emily planned it for me. 

On my mind...Disneyland.  I wish we were still there. 

I am pondering these words...humor is to life as to shock absorbers are to automobiles. 

From the learning rooms...I thought I knew about everrything about my camera, but I discovered some new things this past week, so now I'm back to reading up on it more. 

From the kitchen...just enjoyed my daily smoothie.  Not sure about dinner yet. Tonight is Emily's ballet class, so maybe she & I will go out to dinner afterwards, & Mike & Elliot can go out on for a guy night.

I am wearing...Minnie Mouse pj's.  Like I said, I need to get going on my day & get out of my pj's.

I am thinking...I need to stop being  such a nightowl, but hard to break since I've been this way since I was little girl.  My Mom said that I was born a nightowl.

I am remembering...Emily's ballet class tonight.  She looked 'so' cute!

From the learning rooms...learning some new web stuff - learned abit about CSS, & I learned I prefer html!

I am creating...a new website for friends.

I am going...to take Emily someplace in a few hours.  She's wanted to do this since 2 1/2.  To give you a clue, it's called 'Fairytales & Tutus'.  She is 'so' excited!  So am I!

I am reading...my Bible, The Hiding Place (almost finished), & a few other smaller books & magazines.  Love to read!

I am hoping...my sister's prayers are answered, & that she will find peace.

I am hearing...Mike banging dishes around like crazy.  He told me that he would clean up the kitchen, but it sounds like he's tearing it apart.

Around the house...busy, busy, busy!  Seems to come with a Monday.

One of my favorite things...waking up every single morning with Elliot & Emily.

Outside my window...beautiful sunny day, but brrrrrrr when you step outside!  It's 54F today, which may not be cold to some of you, but to me it is North Pole weather!   

I am thinking...a hot pumpkin spice latte is just what I need today to take this chill off.  So off to Starbucks soon! 

I am thankful for...heat. We gave in & turned it on this morning.  Yes, we are weather wimps.   

I am remembering...alll my blessings this week.  

On my mind...all to do this week. Thanksgiving, Christmas decoratiions, Emily's birthday...full week! 

I am pondering these words...Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving. 

From the learning rooms...no matter how many times I tell myself that I am going to be all ready for the holidays, they 'always' somehow sneak up on me!

I am thankful for...patient online friends.  I'm here - just 'very' busy & a bit behind after our Disney trip & my week of not feeling well. 

I am remembering...our lazy day today.  Mike surprised us by taking the day off, & we didn't do a thing except be lazy.  It was wonderful! 

On my mind...all the 'Monday' stuff I need to do tomorrow since I let it all go today.

Outside my window...dark & quiet.  Every intention I had of getting here this morning, fell by the wayside.  Better late than never.

I am thinking...how good it feels to feel good!

I am thankful for...health!  After not feeling well at all for over a week, I am 'so' thankful for health.  We take it for granted until we are sick. 

I am remembering...my past week of rarely moving from the couch, & how Elliot & Emily 'took care of me'.

On my mind...all that I want & need to do since I lost an entire week.

Outside my window...dark.  Only a few homes still have their lights on.  I'm getting a really late start to this post.  I had Avery today, so does that explain why? :-)



I am thinking...I need to be better organized in some areas of my life. 

I am thankful for...memories. For the past few days, my Mom & my brother have been in my thoughts so much.  I've been smiling at the memories they left me with.  Many tears too - I miss them both so much!

I am remembering...my Mom & my brother.  I am 'so' thankful that God placed me in the family that He did.  They shaped me in so many ways.  I love seeing them in me.

On my mind...how am I shaping my family?  What memories am I giving them to hold to?

From the kitchen...closed at this late hour, but earlier we had a taco dinner.  'Lots' of guacamole!  As you know, Emily could eat an entire bowl of it herself (as could I).
